Privacy Policy
Thank you for taking the time to read our privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”). At DealJoy (“we”, “our”, or “us”), your privacy is of the utmost importance. We want you to be fully informed about the information we collect, how it is used, shared, and protected, and the choices you have with it.
We operate Local Home Report, an online marketing service that connects real estate agents (“Real Estate Agents”) with homeowners or their representatives who are interested in the value of, or selling, their property (“Homeowners”) (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use, process, store, and disclose personal information on https://localhomereport.com/ (the “Website”), in emails sent through our Services, and in otherwise providing the Services.
We provide marketing services to Real Estate Agents. We do not provide real estate brokerage services to Homeowners, and we do not appraise property.

1. Sources of personal information
We may collect personal information:
- Directly from you, when you submit a request through the Website, reply to or otherwise engage with an email sent through our Services, or contact us.
- Automatically, when you visit the Website or open or click an email sent through our Services, using online tracking technologies and other automatic data collection technologies such as server logs, pixels, web beacons, tags, software developer kits, and cookies. Learn more in Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies.
- From Real Estate Agents, who may submit information to our Services following their communications with you.
- From public or private data sources, such as government-maintained property records, and from our business partners or vendors, including data analytics and data providers.
- From social media platforms and networks, if you interact with us there.
We may also create inferences based on the information we have collected directly from you, or from third-party data sources.
2. Categories of personal information we collect
Homeowner information
Below is a list of the personal information of Homeowners we commonly process. It is not exhaustive, and is intended to serve as a sample set.
- Information you submit on the Website, such as your first and last name, email address, property address and ZIP code, selling timeline, and your consent to be contacted.
- Contact information from public records or third-party data sources, such as name, email address, phone numbers, and mailing address.
- Property information, much of which is available from public government records, such as tax assessments, sale price history, updates and permit history, loan information, and deed information, which we may correlate with Homeowner personal information.
- Communications, including personal or other information you provide in an email engagement with us or with a Real Estate Agent, and additional information a Real Estate Agent submits to our Services following their direct communications with you.
- Automated information, including IP address, approximate location, device and browser information (such as user-agent), referring URLs, date and time of visits, pages viewed, clickstream, cookie IDs, and email open and click activity.
- Inferences based on any of the information above, or obtained through third-party sources.
Real Estate Agent information
If you are a Real Estate Agent, we may collect professional contact information (such as your name, title, company email, company name, geographies served, and company website URL), account credentials, correspondence, billing and administrative finance information, automated information about your use of the Website and Services, and information from your engagement with our social media accounts.
3. Business purposes for collecting personal information
We may use Homeowners’ personal information for the following business purposes:
- To connect you with a Real Estate Agent. When you submit a request on the Website, we match you with a participating Real Estate Agent in your area and provide them your information so they can prepare your property estimate and communicate with you about it.
- To provide our Services to Real Estate Agents, including:
- Initial outreach on behalf of Real Estate Agents. Our Real Estate Agents enable us to email Homeowners on their behalf about their property, including about its value or selling it (the “Initial Outreach”). If you have received Initial Outreach and would like to opt out of future communications, see Privacy Choices.
- Homeowner communications. After a Homeowner responds to Initial Outreach or submits a request on the Website, Real Estate Agents may use our Services to communicate with that Homeowner, including by email, and to send the monthly local market update. We may also synchronize directly with Real Estate Agents’ email communications systems as directed by them.
- Customer relationship management. We may host a customer relationship management platform for Real Estate Agents to help manage connections with Homeowners, or synchronize with third-party CRM systems as directed by them.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Website and Services, including preventing spam and fraud, troubleshooting, measuring performance, and modifying our methods for outreach based on Homeowner behavior.
- For advertising and marketing, including measuring the effectiveness of our communications and serving tailored ads, as described in Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies.
- To honor your choices, including maintaining records of consent and of opt-out requests so we do not contact you again.
- For any legal purpose necessary, including intellectual property protection, or if we are required to process information as a result of a court order or other legal or regulatory proceeding.
We may use Real Estate Agent personal information to provide and improve the Website and Services (including sending Homeowner correspondence on their behalf using their name and contact information), to communicate with them, to process payments, for customer support, to send marketing communications in accordance with their preferences, and to verify identity and mitigate fraud.
We may otherwise use personal information with your consent. We may also use aggregated and/or anonymous information for any purpose.
4. How we disclose personal information
Real Estate Agents
When you submit a request on the Website, you direct us to disclose your name, email address, property address, ZIP code, selling timeline, and related information to a participating Real Estate Agent in your area. Real Estate Agents pay us a flat monthly fee for our Services; we are never paid per lead or per sale. Real Estate Agents are independent businesses, and once they receive your information their own privacy practices also apply to it.
Service providers
We utilize various service providers to operate our Website and Services, which may include sharing Real Estate Agent and/or Homeowner personal information. Some of the types of service providers include:
- Website hosting, security, and data storage providers, such as Cloudflare, Inc.
- Customer relationship management platforms and customer billing software.
- Communications providers, including email infrastructure and internal team messaging tools (such as Slack) that notify our staff of new requests.
- Banking and payment processing providers.
- Artificial intelligence providers to support our Services, including OpenAI, LLC and Azure OpenAI with Microsoft Corporation. The contents of disclosures are subject to OpenAI, LLC’s applicable terms of service and privacy policy, and Microsoft Corporation’s Azure legal information.
- Chatbot providers, such as HubSpot, Inc. Communications with our chatbot will not be used for any purpose other than to support us, but are also subject to HubSpot, Inc.’s applicable terms of service and privacy policy.
- Service providers that provide website analytics, advertising, or help manage and optimize our Website and Services (see Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies).
Other disclosures
We may also share personal information with your consent, and in order to:
- Protect the legal rights of our Real Estate Agents, our company, our employees, our agents, and our affiliates.
- Protect the safety and security of those who access and use our Website and Services.
- Detect and protect against fraud.
- Comply with law or legal process.
- Conduct due diligence or complete a legal transaction related to the sale of our business or any assets.
We may disclose de-identified, aggregate, or anonymous information for any purpose. This means that the information does not identify specific individuals.
5. Privacy choices
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Access or correct the personal information we maintain about you.
- Delete the personal information we maintain about you. Please note we may be required by law to retain certain information in compliance with accounting, tax, or other legal obligations, and we keep the minimum needed to make sure we do not contact you again.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link in any marketing email.
- Opt out of targeted advertising using cookies, as described in Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies. You may also reject or delete cookies through your browser settings.
- Ask which Real Estate Agent received your information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. We offer this to everyone, whichever state you live in.
If you are a Homeowner who has received Initial Outreach or other emails through our Services and you would like to opt out of future communications, click the unsubscribe link or reply to the email, or contact us at [email protected]. To exercise any other privacy right, use our Your Privacy Choices page or contact us at the same address, and we will endeavor to honor your request unless prohibited by law or our agreements with Real Estate Agents.
Every commercial email sent through our Services identifies the sender, includes a valid physical postal address, and carries a working unsubscribe link, as the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act requires. Emails from a Real Estate Agent show that agent’s business address.
6. Cookies and other tracking technologies
Like many companies, we and our service providers may use cookies and similar technologies (such as clear gifs, web beacons, pixels, tags, and server logs) to collect information about your browsing activities, your interactions with the Website, our emails, and our Services, to serve tailored ads, and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. There are a number of ways to opt out of having your online activity and device data collected through these services:
- Targeted advertising using your email address. If we have collected your email address, it may be used for targeted advertising on other websites, including through social media. To opt out of this use, email us at [email protected].
- Advertising industry opt-out tools. You can limit use of your information for interest-based advertising online or in apps by visiting optout.aboutads.info.
- With each of our vendors individually. The following advertising or marketing services partners offer opt-out features that let you opt out of use of your information for interest-based advertising or profiling:
- Google — Google Advertising Opt Out
- Microsoft — Microsoft Advertising Opt-Out
- Meta — Meta Ads Preferences
- HubSpot — HubSpot Privacy Policy
Because these opt-out mechanisms are specific to the device or browser on which they are exercised, you will need to opt out on every browser and device that you use.
7. Security
We maintain reasonable safeguards to protect against unauthorized access, use, modification, and disclosure of personal information in our custody and control. Despite our efforts, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or use will never occur.
8. Retention
We retain Homeowner personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services to Real Estate Agents, until it is deleted by the Real Estate Agent or the Real Estate Agent deletes their account with us, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first, except where we must keep it to comply with law or to honor an opt-out. We retain Real Estate Agent personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services. Information a Real Estate Agent has received is also retained under that agent’s own practices.
9. U.S. state-specific notice
Some U.S. states have enacted comprehensive privacy laws. The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the “CCPA”), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, the Colorado Privacy Act, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the Florida Digital Bill of Rights, the Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act, the Iowa Consumer Data Protection Act, the Delaware Personal Data Privacy Act, the Nebraska Data Privacy Act, the New Hampshire Privacy Act, the New Jersey Data Privacy Act, the Tennessee Information Protection Act, the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act, the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act, the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act, the Kentucky Consumer Data Protection Act, and the Rhode Island Data Transparency and Privacy Protection Act create additional privacy obligations for businesses and provide their residents with additional privacy rights.
Additional privacy rights
In addition to the rights in Privacy Choices, if you are a resident of one of these states, you may have the right to:
- Opt out of the ‘sale’ or ‘share’ of your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising. Some third-party cookies placed on our Website may be considered a ‘sale’ or ‘share’ under these laws; you may opt out of them as described in Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies. Because Real Estate Agents pay for our Services, disclosing your information to a Real Estate Agent may also be considered a ‘sale’ under some of these laws. You may opt out of any future such disclosure on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
- Opt out of profiling. Some U.S. states regulate the collection and use of personal information for profiling purposes, which may include some of our Services.
You can exercise these rights on our Your Privacy Choices page or by emailing us at [email protected].
Our approach to “sale” and “sharing”
When you submit our estimate form and tick the consent box, you direct us to disclose your information to a Real Estate Agent. We do not believe a disclosure you direct is a “sale.” Some of our other activity — for example, using contact information from public records and third-party sources in outreach sent on behalf of Real Estate Agents who pay us — could be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” under some state laws. Rather than draw that line state by state, we honor opt-out requests from anyone. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Global Privacy Control
We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information collected from that browser. If you submit our estimate form while GPC is on, we still send your details to the Real Estate Agent who prepares your estimate, because that is the request you made — the form tells you so — but we do not sell or share them for any other purpose.
